Types of Hemroids or Hemorrhoids

There are basically four types of hemroids that is internal, external, prolapsed and bleeding hemorrhoids

Internal hemroids occur inside the anus and rectum, from where they can cause a lot of uneasiness and inflammation.

External hemroids appear on the outside of the anus, especially around the anal opening. They too can cause a lot of discomfort because of constant friction with clothes, etc.

Prolapsed hemroids basically represent a later stage in the development cycle of internal hemroids. When the latter become too bulky due to clogging of the veins with blood they begin to sag and consequently protrude from the anus.

Bleeding hemroids are also a more severe form or stage of internal hemorrhoids characterized by profuse bleeding.

How can hemroids be treated?

There are several methods of treating hemorrhoids and they include temporary remedies as well as longer lasting ones. The common ones are:

Band Ligation

This method of treating hemorrhoids involves blocking the flow of blood to the excessive growth or lump using a rubber band. Your medical practitioner will show you how.

Injection Therapy

This method involves injecting the affected area with hardening agents which stop circulation and reduce the size of the hemroids. It is good for treating multiple hemorrhoids.

Coagulation

This method is recommended for treating small hemorrhoids. It involves using electric current or infrared light to burn off the hemorrhoids. With continuous treatment hemorrhoids shrink and finally disappear.

Hemroids surgery

A surgical operation is used to remove the hemorrhoids while the patient is under anesthesia.

Creams and other medical products

There are a number of creams and other medications available on the market for the treatment of hemorrhoids. Your medical practitioner will guide you accordingly regarding which ones are best for your type of hemroids.

What is Hemroids or Hemorrhoids?

We can start by distinguishing between hemorrhoids the condition, and hemroids as a disease. As a condition, hemorrhoids refer to small swellings that develop in the anus and lower part of the rectum as a result of blood clogging the veins within the rectum.

Some of these swellings can develop just outside the opening to the anus and can easily be seen upon examination of that area. Otherwise, the main area of attack by hemorrhoids is usually inside the anus or rectum and they only become visible externally at a later stage in their development cycle. Hemroids the disease is therefore characterized by the presence of swellings (the actual hemorrhoids) and other symptoms in the anal area - both inside and outside.

What are the other symptoms of hemorrhoids?

• Presence of blood in the stool.
• Feeling of obstruction caused by swollen veins in the anus.
• Protruding lumps hanging from the anus.
• Itching and inflammation around the anus.

What causes hemorrhoids to develop?

The occurrence of hemorrhoids is very much a result of poor eating habits and diet. We can therefore almost say that hemorrhoids is a disease of lifestyle, because eating habits, etc, are determined by an individual's lifestyle.

A poor diet, especially that lacking in fiber, green vegetables, fruits and enough water and juices often leads to constipation - the reduction in volume and hardening of stool. Constipation, especially in its chronic stages, is probably the single most prevalent cause of hemorrhoids. Small, hard stools are difficult to excrete and a lot of pressure is applied in the process. This strain and the scarring that the hard, dry stools cause on the walls of the anus lay the groundwork for hemorrhoids to eventually take over. It is therefore important that we balance our diets properly and consume enough fiber-rich foods such as cereals, beans, peas, green vegetables and fruits, and of course take in enough fluids. These will ensure that sufficient volumes of stool are produced to cater for regular and easy bowel movement.

The nature of modern life is another factor that has fueled the increase in the number of people suffering from constipation and consequently hemroids. The busy schedules and haste that characterize the lives of today's working class have left no time for good meals, physical exercises and relaxation. Little wonder then that our digestive systems have become jammed with junk foods and other unhealthy products and the end result is constipation and hemorrhoids.

Other causes of hemorrhoids

• Obesity or overweight: Hemroids is common in over-weight people or obesity patients because these people have to put more pressure on pelvic veins while passing stool.

• Lack of physical exercise and body movement: Prolonged sitting in one place causes heat to build up in the anal area, and this can lead to swelling of the veins which we know is one of the contributing factors to hemorrhoids development.

• Hard labor and lifting heavy loads: This puts pressure on veins and tissues. This sudden extra pressure causes some burning sensation during bowel movement and results into hemroids.

• Pregnancy: Chances of getting hemorrhoids are greater during pregnancy and delivery as extra pressure is exerted to push the baby out of the womb and this pressure tampers with the bowel tissues.

Hemorrhoids treatment

Today is Monday, another first day of the week at my office. But today I am compel to write this blog. Because I am just coming from Medicos Hospital. I have admitted my friend James in this hospital today morning. He is suffering from hemorrhoids. The doctor's are saying it's not a serious case.
Anyone will giggle if you talk of hemorrhoids. But let me reveal you a true fact, which I came to know from the doctors today. Most of the people suffer from hemorrhoids in developed countries. Hemorrhoids or piles are enlarged veins in anal area, which can bleed in serious condition. When I asked the doctors about the reason they said "Problems do not come to us, we invite them".
So let me share those fact which I came to know today.
  • Most of the people suffer from hemorrhoids as they consume lots of processed food. We should include more fibrous food in our diet.
  • The most important fact they told me was the sitting postures. We should take a break from our office work of about 5 minutes after every hour. So that our sitting posture do not exert pressure on hemorrhoids veins.
  • Do not spend time reading news paper sitting in the toilet. As it also exerts pressure on hemorrhoids veins, which can be another cause for hemorrhoids.
  • Do daily exercise as it helps in circulation of blood through out your body.
  • Doctor's have suggest me to go through a website http://www.hemorrhoids-treatment-guide.com/
  • For complete guide for hemorrhoids doctor's have suggest me to review the above mentioned website. This site covers all the topics related to hemorrhoids eg. internal hemorrhoids, external hemorrhoids, bleeding hemorrhoids, hemorrhoids causes, hemorrhoids surgery, hemorrhoids prevention, and many more topics which can be of great help.
As I am already late to my work today. Now I should end my conversation. If you want to contact me please mail me at info@hemorrhoids-treatment-guide.com
